Hey everyone!

Welcome to Carlita’s Cosmos! The first C in C.C. Winchester stands for Carlita and this is my cosmos. After a lot of overthinking (something I excel at), I decided on Carlita’s Cosmos because I have too many interests to limit myself to a few or one. I love all genres of writing, but I find horror the most fun and the most representative of my life experiences. Not that I’ve ever come across any actual ghosts or monsters, but metaphorically speaking life is filled with them and putting a name on them through the lens of horror is cathartic for me.

So, here’s my C.C. Winchester bio that I wrote many years ago at the beginning of the pandemic. I still like it, and hope you do too:

C.C. Winchester believed that like many writers before her, her horror-loving journey began with the works of Stephen King. After reading Salem’s Lot as a teenager, she found it necessary to sleep with the light on for a week and she loved it! But upon reading these books, she was informed by her mother that around the age of five, she started sneaking into the living room late at night to watch zombie movies and such with her parents. Her mother said that though her infiltration was discovered and she was promptly removed from said living room, that she would return in what she thought was stealth mode, only to be removed again. She currently resides in Dallas, Texas with her daughter who also writes stories. Their home is full of four-legged loves; various rescue dogs and cats, who love to help them write!

P.S. I’ve become very interested in quantum mechanics as of late, so of course those themes will show up in my stories. One more thing, I am 60 years old as of this writing and I plan to never stop learning and growing. (About updated as of 3/29/26)
